Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 13-week assignment on a Med/Tele unit (2 South)
• Rotating weekend shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week
• No on-call requirements
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Tele specialty experience required
• Minimum 2 years of hospital experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Active Texas RN license required; temporary licenses are not accepted; compact RN license must be active
• Documentation system: Meditech (experience preferred)
• Floating to other units as needed
• Perform general Med Surg procedures including IV initiation, NG tube insertion, Foley catheter insertion, dressing changes, and ADL assistance
• Responsible for nursing practice decisions including promoting a safe and therapeutic environment, acquiring specialized knowledge, and supervising other staff as designated
• Must be competent in patient experience standards: AIDET, Bedside Reporting, Hourly Rounding, and Service Recovery Steps (LEARN)
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs with facility embroidery (proof of purchase required)
• No artificial nails, gel, or next gen nails permitted
• Hair must be neat, clean, and pulled back if shoulder length or longer; no extreme styles or colors
• Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
• Body art must be covered whenever possible
