ICU RN Job in Portsmouth, NH

Join Portsmouth Regional Hospital NH as an ICU RN on a 13-week travel assignment. You will work 3 shifts per week on the night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), with 12-hour shifts totaling 12 shifts per month. Four weekend shifts per month are required. Weekly pay is $2,216.

You will care for patients in a 25-bed ICU with a 2:1 patient ratio. The unit is staffed with mid-level providers, trauma surgeons, and respiratory therapists around the clock. Physical therapy and occupational therapy are available during day shifts. You will not have LNAs or PCTs supporting the unit, so strong independent clinical skills are essential.

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Perform intubation, central line and arterial line placement, and chest tube placement
• Titrate vasoactive and inotrope medications
• Demonstrate strong telemetry skills
• Manage patients on Hamilton BiPAPs, high-flow devices, and Puritan ventilators
• Coordinate care with Hemospheres equipment and GE Monitors
• Complete bedside shift reports at each change of shift and update MyCare boards
• Document in the Meditech Expanse system

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• ACLS and BLS certification
• Minimum chest tube experience
• Prior ICU experience required
• Open heart surgery, temporary pacing, and Swan-Ganz catheter experience preferred

Department leadership will build the schedule around your requested time off. Travelers float on a rotation basis, with travelers floating first. Dress code is scrubs in any color.

Your assignment begins November 2, 2026, and runs for 91 days. This is a great opportunity to practice advanced critical care nursing in a busy, well-supported environment.
