RN - Oncology

Job Details:

• On-call schedule to be determined by facility
• Weekend schedule to be determined by facility
• Minimum 24 months of current Oncology experience required
• EPIC Beacon and Chemotherapy Infusion experience required
• ONS chemotherapy biotherapy provider certificate required
• Active Texas or Compact nursing license required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA)
• Skills checklist specific to Oncology discipline required
• 2 supervisory references from within the last year required
• Coordinate patient care delivery using nursing professional practice model for oncology patient populations
• Perform patient assessments and identify nursing diagnoses related to cancer care and other medical diagnoses including allergies and hypersensitivity reactions, physical signs and symptoms, psychosocial needs, and changes in activities of daily living
• Provide safe medication administration and chemotherapy infusion treatments
• Educate patients, families, and significant others on cancer care, therapies, treatment side effects, interventions, and prevention
• Serve as patient advocate focusing on patient rights, confidentiality, and cultural preferences
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in patient care records
• Serve as Charge Nurse on rotation as necessary
• Serve as preceptor or trainer to newer nursing staff members
