Job Details:

• Assess, implement, and evaluate the delivery of respiratory care services in accordance with hospital standards and department policies
• Provide care to patients in both non-critical and critical care areas with consideration to patient age, cultural, and psychosocial factors
• Administer mechanical ventilation (invasive and non-invasive) while monitoring and measuring patient parameters
• Perform ventilator maintenance and setting changes while monitoring patient response
• Respond to code blues, RIT/CRIT calls, and patient transports in a timely manner
• Perform medication administration via nebulizer or metered dose inhaler, humidity and aerosol therapy, medical gas administration, incentive spirometry, respiratory mechanics, PEP therapy, pulse oximetry, chest physiotherapy, CPR, intubation, extubating, suctioning, and bronchoscopy assist
• Complete computer entry, verify physician orders, and document pertinent clinical information accurately in the medical record
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and demonstrate professional judgment in response to changing patient or departmental situations
• Participate in mentoring of new personnel and assist in monitoring quality and appropriateness of patient care
• May float between adult and children's populations and possibly other units
• Minimum 2 years of recent staff experience in a large PICU unit or facility required
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program required
• Valid Oklahoma Provisional/Respiratory Care Practitioner License (RCP) or Oklahoma endorsement process already in progress required
• Certified/Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) credential through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA required
• PALS certification from AHA required
• EPIC experience a plus but will train on site
