ICU RN Job in Kearney, NE

You'll work as an RN in a 33-bed ICU at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. This is a 126-day travel assignment starting September 14, 2026, with 3x12-hour shifts at $2,359 per week.

Shift Details

• Day shift: 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
• Night shift: 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Minimum of 2 holidays within the contract period
• Self-scheduling into core staff; block scheduling not guaranteed

Patient Care

The unit has an average daily census of 16 patients. You'll maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adult patients. Common diagnoses include trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose and substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent placement, pacemaker insertion, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress.

• Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry using GE monitor equipment with tele tech support
• Work with respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilator
• Floating may occur to PCU or Med-Surg with ratios of 1:4 or 1:5

Support and Resources

• Nurse aides available based on census
• Healthcare Support tech on staff 3 days per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Charting system: EPIC

Requirements and Standards

• Valid driver's license required at submittal
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Must pass an open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
• Artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas
• If placed on call and called in, you must be able to arrive within 30 minutes
