Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Excellent IV skills required, including instilling prescribed pupil-dilating drops
• Conduct patient interviews and assessments
• Must be able to recover Phase 1 PACU patients and manage airways
• Manage pain and nausea in patients ranging from 6 months to 95 years of age
• Required certifications: ACLS and PALS
• Familiarity with surgical eye cases strongly preferred, including cataracts, cornea, retina, glaucoma, and plastics
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Assist physician in examination of patients and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients and intervene when necessary
• Administer medication as prescribed and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Interact with patients and families to share care plans and inform them of hospital procedures
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Ability to maintain a fast pace and embrace teamwork
