About this role

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 28, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

  • 4x10 hour shifts, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Weekly pay: $3,156
  • On-call responsibilities: 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts per 6-week period
  • One full weekend of call (Friday–Sunday) scheduled together each cycle
  • Remaining weekday call shifts (Monday–Thursday) taken individually
  • One Saturday shift for elective cases required per 6-week period
  • Must return to hospital within 30 minutes when called
  • One holiday per 13-week contract, rotating with staff
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac cath lab nursing
  • Prior travel healthcare experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CCI RCIS
  • Proficiency in Epic charting
  • Scrub experience required
  • Skilled in diagnostic and interventional procedures: LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temporary pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip
  • Competency in sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response protocols
  • Knowledge of fluoroscopy, isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management
  • Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred

Patient Population and Environment

  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Serve adult patients across 6 procedure rooms
  • Daily census: 15 to 20 patients
  • Common diagnoses: coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, atrial septal defect and patent foramen ovale closures
  • Advanced procedures: TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, renal denervation, and research protocols
  • Equipment: IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUS
