RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 36 hours per week on a Monday through Friday schedule with rotating weekends and holidays
• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed general medicine unit with all private rooms
• Take patient assignments and follow the 5 rights of medication administration
• Provide wound care per physician orders
• Document patient information according to hospital policy
• Perform patient admissions and discharges according to orders
• Utilize critical thinking skills in daily patient care
• Work on a 3-lead (Masimo) telemetry unit with continuous vital sign monitoring (CVSM)
• Monitor continuous pulse oximetry, continuous heart rate, and continuous respiratory rate
• Complete telemetry competency during orientation for 3-lead (Masimo) system
• Participate in Age Friendly rounds every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
• Focus on geriatric patient population, particularly patients 65 years of age and older
• Address all aspects of geriatric patient care and quality of life both in and out of the hospital
