Med Surg RN Job in Elizabethtown, Kentucky

You will work as a Registered Nurse in Med Surg at Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. This is a night shift position, 16 hours per week, for an 89-day assignment beginning July 13, 2026.

Your core responsibilities:

• Implement professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person, creating a caring environment focused on healing and wellness
• Base nursing practices on evidence, current research, hospital and department policies, and professional guidelines
• Perform and document comprehensive assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice
• Consider patient culture, age, and developmental level when designing actions and interventions
• Collect objective and subjective data and obtain health information from patients, families, and other sources as necessary
• Develop a prioritized problem list based on input from the inter-professional team
• Determine desired outcomes in coordination with the patient, family, and medical plan of care
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures within scope of practice
• Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
• Conduct ongoing assessments and document responses to procedures and therapies
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in patient care activities
• Monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care
• Identify and address patient educational needs
• Facilitate patient discharge by executing orders and coordinating with Case Management
• Participate in quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI prevention, and documentation auditing
• Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions
