Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend or half of weekends required
• Holiday shifts required based on unit needs
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 and 1:2
• Work in a combined SICU and MICU unit with 16 beds each, caring for a variety of ICU patients including CABG, CVA, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral brain hemorrhage, GI bleeds, DKA, STEMI, septic shock, overdose, respiratory failure, and neuro surgery patients
• Titrate drips including dopamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, cardene, nitro, neo, vasopressin, diltiazem, insulin, and esmolol
• Monitor and read patient strips using Spacelabs monitoring system
• Charge nurse available on each unit and does not routinely take assignments; resource nurse available on each unit
• Nurse aides available with 1:8 ratios; 2 CNAs per unit on days and 1-1.5 per unit on nights
• Hospitalist and intensivist in house at all times
• Respiratory therapy staffed 24/7 with a minimum of 2 per ICU; RT equipment includes ventilators, BiPAP, and CPAP
• May float to other ICUs within the health system or serve as a 1:1 sitter outside the ICU
• Charting system: EPIC
• No scrub color or dress code requirement
• 1-2 shift unit orientation provided
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; experience in similar size or larger ICU preferred
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
