ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in a 101-bed Emergency Department at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning January 3, 2027, with a schedule of three 12-hour day shifts per week (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM).

Role Overview

You'll care for medical and behavioral health patients, maintaining ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds. You'll float within all sections of the Emergency Department as clinical needs require, but will not float outside the ED. You'll work alongside cardiac monitoring techs, internal processing staff, unit clerks, and triage personnel available on day and night shifts.

Requirements & Experience

You must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting. Preferred qualifications include experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED with more than 100,000 annual visits.

Systems & Tools

You'll use Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and Cerner electronic health record system for documentation.

Scheduling & Expectations

Every other weekend availability is required, with flexibility to meet departmental needs. There are no block scheduling commitments. You must demonstrate teamwork, coach colleagues, provide real-time feedback, and adapt to all areas of the ED. Follow patient experience standards including AIDET communication and keep patient boards and patients updated throughout their visit.

Navy scrubs required.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,181.24.
