PCU RN Job in Uniontown, PA

WVU Uniontown Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You'll provide direct patient care in a 28-bed stepdown unit that serves as the central monitoring station for the entire hospital.

• Shift and Schedule: Work 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM). Weekend requirements include every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Every other holiday is worked into the permanent staff holiday rotation.
• Patient Care Responsibilities: Manage patient ratios of 1:4–5 (1:6 for Med-Surg acuity). Common diagnoses include cardiac cases, dysrhythmias, cerebrovascular accidents, and patients downgraded from ICU. You'll read and interpret telemetry strips, titrate drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin), and work with ventilation equipment including BiPap, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen.
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. Active RN license required.
• Orientation: Two shifts of floor-specific orientation with a preceptor.
• Facility Details: The unit uses EPIC electronic medical records (transitioning from Cerner). You may be called to float to ICU as helping hands. BSN not required.
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs required; jackets, if worn, must also be navy blue.

Compensation: $2,384.64 per week. Assignment duration is 91 days, with a start date of November 30, 2026.
