Opportunity:

RN - Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend shifts required with 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Days: Saturday/Sunday)
• May be asked to work holidays but not expected to work every holiday
• Schedule is typically made out 6 weeks at a time with scheduler working alongside travelers to create schedule
• Maximum of 5 shifts in a row; block scheduling is not guaranteed
• Travelers are first to float and may be floated to any other MS, MS-Tele, or Tele unit within the hospital and at sister facilities
• Float between 3rd and 7th floor Telemetry units as needed to cover staffing needs
• 3rd Floor has 20 beds with a cardiac focus including post-op procedural, post-op day 1 open heart, TAVRs, ablations, post caths, pacemakers, and med tele patients
• 7th Floor has 35 beds with general tele patients including post procedural overflow, CHF, sepsis, electrolyte imbalances, post strokes, and more
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• CNAs available on both floors (3 on 3rd floor, 5 on 7th floor) with typical CNA-to-patient ratios of 1:8
• Charge nurse on each unit who does not take a patient assignment unless necessary; crisis and resource nurse available in-house
• Must be able to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips; remote tele techs located on 3rd floor; nurses expected to read and interpret tele 2x per shift
• Required to titrate Heparin and Insulin drips (rare); set rate cardiac drips include amio, cardizem, dopamine, and dobutamine
• RT available on each floor managing high respiratory needs including intermittent high flow, BiPAP, and CPAP; RNs may be asked to assist as needed
• 2 orientation shifts provided (1 on 3rd floor, 1 on 7th floor)
• Charting system: EPIC
• Any color scrubs permitted
• 2 years of experience required; prior travel experience preferred but not required
• Must have post-procedural cardiac experience (cath lab, ablations, open heart)
• PCU and stepdown experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
