About this role

You'll work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on a Telemetry unit at St Lukes Boise Medical Center. This is a 91-day assignment starting July 20, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,073.60.

Schedule and Flexibility

  • 3 shifts per week (3x12 days)
  • Weekend shifts required: 5–6 weekend shifts per 6-week cycle (Saturday/Sunday)
  • Holidays may be requested but are not expected
  • Schedules set 6 weeks in advance with input from the scheduling team
  • Maximum of 5 consecutive shifts; block scheduling is not guaranteed

Unit Details and Patient Care

You'll float between two Telemetry units (3rd and 7th floors) to meet staffing needs. The 3rd Floor (20 beds) focuses on cardiac post-procedural and post-operative care, including open heart surgery day 1, TAVRs, ablations, post-catheterization, pacemakers, and medical telemetry patients. The 7th Floor (35 beds) handles general telemetry patients such as post-procedural overflow, CHF, sepsis, electrolyte imbalances, and post-stroke patients. You'll maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Support and Resources

  • CNAs available on both floors (3 on 3rd floor, 5 on 7th floor) with 1:8 ratios
  • Charge nurse on each unit without patient assignment unless crisis occurs
  • Crisis and resource nurse in-house for support
  • Remote tele techs on 3rd floor; you'll read and interpret telemetry strips twice per shift
  • Respiratory therapists on each floor managing high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, and CPAP; you may assist as needed

Clinical Responsibilities

You'll titrate Heparin and Insulin drips when required (rare occurrences) and manage cardiac drips including amiodarone, cardizem, dopamine, and dobutamine. Charting is done in EPIC. You'll receive 2 orientation shifts: one on the 3rd floor and one on the 7th floor.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience
  • Post-procedural cardiac experience (cath lab, ablations, open heart)
  • PCU and step-down experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred but not required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Any color scrubs are permitted. You may be floated to other Med-Surg or Telemetry units within the hospital or sister facilities as needed.
