Job Details:

• Current and active Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required, completed through AWHONN or GE
• Previous Labor & Delivery experience required
• Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, including population-appropriate physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plan
• Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs
• Consult with appropriate resources regarding patients with complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, and those at high risk for discharge planning
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families
• Collaborate with patient and family to prepare or update the plan of care
• Utilize multidisciplinary resources in planning care
• Identify and address cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care
• Participate in evaluation of patient care with members of the interdisciplinary team
• Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care
