PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 5-8 hour shifts Monday through Friday
• Flexible PACU start time between 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM, Preop starts at 5:30 AM
• Call requirements: typically once per week and one weekend call per month
• Weekend call covers Friday end of shift through Monday beginning of shift
• May be asked to participate in holiday call rotation
• Must respond to call within 1 hour if living outside of Artesia
• Work in 4-bed Preop and 6-bed PACU unit
• Expected to rotate between Preop, PACU Phase 1 & 2, and Discharge
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Preop 1:1, PACU 1:1-2
• Handle cases including ortho, gynecology, urology, pain management, podiatry, general surgery, and endoscopy
• Must have 2 years of nursing experience and ortho experience required
• Endoscopy experience preferred
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS
• Blue scrubs provided by facility
• Complete mandatory modules prior to working (approximately 20 hours, billable up to 6 hours)
• One week orientation with preceptor
• Occasional floating to assist with low census situations
• Use TruBridge - Evident charting system
• BSN not required
• Will accept first-time travelers
