Job Details:

• Work day shifts Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
• On-call, callback, holiday, and weekend coverage required per unit needs
• 1-year contract position
• Assist in patient care during anesthesia procedures including preparation of anesthesia equipment prior to patient arrival
• Place anesthesia monitors and ensure cleanliness and availability of specialized anesthesia equipment and supplies
• Continuously communicate with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and anesthesia technologists to ensure their needs are met throughout the day
• Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and placement of central line catheters
• Operate cell-saver machine, track lab reports, and participate in cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, trauma, and other advanced surgical cases
• Provide primary support in ensuring anesthesia equipment is in good working order and preventive maintenance is completed
• Set up and operate sophisticated equipment and perform advanced troubleshooting
• Assist in development and implementation of in-service training programs and training of staff
• Test infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, and transport monitors
• Calibrate anesthesia machines and attach fiberoptic bronchoscopes to video monitors
• Set up rooms between cases and provide full service setup at end of day
• Support ectopic procedures for anesthesia care ensuring proper equipment is in place for out-of-OR procedures
• Provide backup to shift supervisor in their absence
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech required
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized professional certifying body preferred
