ICU RN Job in Chapel Hill, NC

You will provide direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit at University of North Carolina Health Care System. This is a 12-hour shift position with an 89-day assignment beginning October 12, 2026. You will earn $2,070 per week.

As an RN in the ICU, your responsibilities include:

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care according to professional standards in an intensive care setting
• Apply the nursing process to coordinate and deliver patient care in a hospital environment
• Manage care for patients with complex medical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as directed by the patient care plan
• Prioritize and organize care based on patient and family requirements
• Assess discharge planning needs and work with patients and families to prepare for transitions
• Recognize patterns in complex situations to establish appropriate care priorities
• Collaborate with patients and families to develop and update individualized care plans
• Consult with appropriate resources promptly when patients have complex care issues or specialized teaching needs
• Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions regarding patient care evaluation
• Communicate relevant clinical information to ensure continuity of care
• Contribute to unit goals and participate in performance improvement initiatives
• Maintain a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for patients and staff
• Build therapeutic relationships with families to support patient advocacy and family wellbeing
• Address cultural and ethnic considerations when planning individualized patient care

You will need an active RN license. This travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to work within a health system setting while maintaining flexibility through a defined contract period.
