PreOp RN Job in Modesto, CA

Sutter Health Memorial Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for PreOp to join the team in Modesto, California. This position offers a structured day schedule with variable start times between 5:30 AM and 11:30 AM, working five 8-hour shifts per week with no on-call or weekend requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre-operative assessments and patient education across multiple age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Manage a patient ratio of 5 patients during day shifts
• Perform airway and pain assessments with appropriate management strategies
• Administer conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care (MAC)
• Complete medication reconciliation and obtain operative or procedural consent
• Manage nerve blocks, PCA pumps, and reversal agents
• Apply malignant hyperthermia protocol when indicated
• Document care using the Epic charting system

Requirements:

• Valid California RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or ARC only)
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Ability to care for pediatric patients and manage complex pre-operative scenarios

This assignment is 91 days with a start date of November 10, 2026. Weekly compensation is $2,352. The role includes 16 hours of orientation to familiarize you with facility protocols, equipment, and team workflows.
