ED Registered Nurse Job in Ithaca, NY

Cayuga Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. You will work the night shift, providing direct care to patients presenting with acute medical and traumatic conditions in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

As an RN in the ED, you will assess and monitor patients across a range of acuity levels, coordinate care with physicians and specialists, and respond quickly to changing patient needs. You'll triage incoming patients, establish IV access, administer medications and treatments, perform diagnostic testing, and prepare patients for transfer or admission. Your clinical judgment and communication skills will be essential to supporting safe, effective care and maintaining patient and staff safety.

Schedule and Duration

• Shift: 3 x 12-hour nights
• Duration: 90 days
• Start date: August 23, 2026

Compensation

Weekly pay of $2,400.

What We're Looking For

You hold a current RN license and are comfortable working in an unpredictable environment where patient volume and acuity fluctuate throughout your shift. You adapt well to interruptions, prioritize multiple patients simultaneously, and collaborate respectfully with nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and other team members. You are detail-oriented, remain calm under pressure, and take initiative to support your colleagues.
