Description
<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - Med Surg</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work on a major trauma unit caring for adult and geriatric patients<br>• Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends<br>• 12-hour orientation period required<br>• Must work every other holiday<br>• Float requirement to all other inpatient units (agency nurses pulled first)<br>• Weekend coverage required<br>• No specific scheduling requests can be guaranteed<br>• 2 years of nursing experience in specialty required<br>• Travel experience required<br>• Neurosurgery experience required<br>• Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers)<br>• Required certifications: BLS, Blood product administration, PICC line management, Starting IVs, Pre/Post Neuro surgery, TBI management, Ortho trauma, Surgical drains, Chest tubes, Isolation precautions<br>• Preferred certifications: ACLS, NIHSS<br>• Louisiana or Compact nursing license required upon submission<br>• NURSYS report must be current within 4 weeks of submission<br>• AHA certifications required<br>• No call-ins allowed - strict attendance policy<br>• Work with special equipment including traction, external fixators, PCA pumps, wound vacs, central lines, chest tubes<br>• Care for patients with multi-trauma, TBI, stroke, sepsis, epidural hematomas, ortho trauma<br>• Assist with procedures including craniotomy, spinal fusions, ORIF, muscle flaps, skin grafts<br>• May be assigned to Emergency Team during emergency events with expectation to stay until event passes</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This healthcare organization operates a comprehensive medical center featuring a major trauma unit that provides specialized care for critically injured patients.
