Occupational Therapy Assistant Job in Wichita, KS

Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas is seeking a travel Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a 91-day assignment. You will work 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM shifts, Monday through Friday, at $1,606 per week.

You will be based on the 1st floor of Building 3 in this acute care facility, working within the Occupational Therapy unit. The unit manages approximately 250 active consults daily, and you will be assigned 9 to 13 patients per day. You will work under a 2:1 OTR to COTA ratio, performing occupational therapy treatments in a general acute care setting with standard DME equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering OT treatments to acute care patients
• Working with general acute care equipment and resources
• Documenting and communicating patient progress in the Meditech EMR system
• Collaborating with the occupational therapy team and interdisciplinary staff
• Working independently with high accountability and minimal direct oversight

Requirements:

• Active Kansas licensure as a COTA
• Minimum 6 months of acute care hospital occupational therapy experience
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Flexibility to adapt to the demands of acute care practice

Preferred qualifications:

• Trauma care experience
• Comprehensive stroke care experience
