Opportunity:

Certified Surgical Tech - CVOR Tech

Job Details:

• Work weekdays, 4 days a week with a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• No on-call requirements
• Schedule varies based on department needs and may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• May be required to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during schedule period
• May be required to float to other areas of the organization up to competency level
• 2 years of experience required in OR and Trauma settings
• Prior travel experience required
• BLS certification by American Heart Association standards required
• No additional licensure required
• Responsible for supplying the operating room with proper equipment and instrumentation needed for specific surgeries
• Maintain sterility of the surgical field and anticipate the needs of surgeons, passing instruments in a timely fashion
• Perform duties including sponging or suctioning, holding retractors, applying electrocautery, irrigation to the operative site, cutting suture material, connecting drains, and applying wound dressings
• Care for instrumentation and equipment following procedure completion and prepare for subsequent cases
• Ensure equipment is working properly before surgical procedures and report any malfunctions or broken equipment
• Serve a patient population of adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, surgery staff, surgeons, and anesthesiologists
