Pediatrics RN Job in Des Moines, IA

UnityPoint - Blank Children's Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a temporary position in Pediatrics on the night shift. This role offers the opportunity to work with pediatric patients across multiple specialties in a dynamic clinical environment.

Position Details

• Shift: 3x12 nights
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: December 7, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,376
• Guaranteed 36–40 hours per week
• Every 3rd weekend schedule required

Clinical Responsibilities

• Work in a 14-bed Pediatric unit specializing in Hematology/Oncology and Medical-Surgical care
• Care for all pediatric specialties as needed
• Float to NICU, general floor (B3), and PICU as required
• Float to ED to care for inpatient holds as needed
• Patient ratios of 1:2–4
• On-call availability possible during low census between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license
• Minimum 24 months of Pediatric and/or Oncology experience
• Pediatric experience within the previous 18 months
• Hematology/Oncology experience
• At least 1 completed travel contract within the previous 18 months (no first-time travelers)
• EPIC electronic medical records experience within the previous 12 months
• Valid driver's license

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• APHON
• Skills checklist specific to Pediatric/Oncology discipline

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
