Med Surg RN Job in Paducah, Kentucky

You'll join Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Paducah, Kentucky as a Registered Nurse on a Med Surg unit. This is a 13-week assignment offering 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. You'll earn $2,173 weekly and are expected to be available for holidays and weekends with no special scheduling requirements.

In this role, you'll deliver comprehensive patient care grounded in professional nursing practice. Your responsibilities include:

• Conducting thorough patient assessments that consider culture, age, and developmental level
• Identifying patient risk factors and collecting health history, objective, and subjective data
• Developing and prioritizing patient problem lists using input from the interprofessional team
• Designing and implementing care interventions tailored to patient culture and age
• Determining desired outcomes in coordination with patients, families, and the medical plan of care
• Explaining procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
• Recognizing and communicating changes in patient condition promptly and appropriately
• Conducting ongoing assessments and documenting responses to procedures and therapies
• Delegating tasks appropriately and overseeing team members in patient care activities
• Identifying and addressing patient educational needs related to prioritized problems
• Facilitating the discharge process, including discharge teaching and Case Management coordination

You'll also actively participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, contributing to patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring. Throughout your assignment, you'll foster a positive group dynamic and healing environment through your words and actions, supporting patients' wellness and recovery.
