Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week with an estimated 36 hours per week
• Provide respiratory therapy services and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities across all patient populations and service areas
• Read prescriptions, measure arterial blood gases, and review patient information to assess patient condition and determine treatment requirements
• Evaluate appropriateness of medical orders and interpret clinical data to optimize patient clinical objectives
• Set up and operate devices including mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators
• Monitor patient physiological responses to therapy including vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes
• Perform bronchopulmonary drainage and assist patients with breathing exercises
• Perform pulmonary function tests and consult with physicians in the event of adverse reactions
• Assist with transport of mechanically ventilated patients and respond to all code situations
• Maintain patient charts containing pertinent identification and therapy information
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Must be a graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory program
• Required certifications and licenses: Basic Life Support (BLS), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RTT), State License, PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, PA Act 73
• NRP may be required for certain facilities
