RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 13-week contract assignment on the 4 East Medical-Surgical Orthopedics unit
• Night shift hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekend schedule required
• No on-call requirements
• Patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6 on days and 1:6 or 1:7 on nights
• Work on a 32-bed unit with a collaborative team including charge nurses and patient care technicians
• Utilize equipment including PCAs, on-Q pumps, Hoyer lifts, traction, and wound vacs
• Chart using Meditech EMR system (preferred)
• Perform nursing skills including NGT tube management, IV placement, and foley management
• Support patients undergoing neurosurgeries (kyphoplasty, decompression, laminectomy), fracture repairs/IM nailing, general surgery, bariatric surgery, bladder sling, and hysterectomy procedures
• Acute care experience required, preferably in med-surg
• Flexibility with scheduling required
• Required certifications: BLS
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Strong time management skills and upbeat, team-player personality preferred
