ED RN Job in Stayton, OR

Join Santiam Memorial Hospital's Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse on a 91-day travel assignment. You'll work three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) at $2,439 weekly pay, starting September 24, 2026.

Role Overview

You'll provide direct patient care in a Trauma Level 4 facility with 7 beds currently expanding to 14. The department treats approximately 60 patients per 24-hour period, with roughly 20 trauma cases monthly due to the facility's location in a recreational area. Common diagnoses include traumas, burns, motor vehicle accidents, water rescues, general surgical cases, orthopedic injuries, obstetric patients, and upper GI bleeds.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications including heparin, pressors, and blood products
• Perform and interpret EKG strips—nursing staff handle all EKG interpretation
• Conduct majority of IV starts and blood draws, with phlebotomy available as backup
• Triage patients as needed; triage experience preferred
• Troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment and administer breathing treatments when necessary
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4–5 for non-acute patients and 2:1 for resuscitations based on acuity

Scheduling and Operations

Manager-created schedules with block scheduling accommodated when possible. Every other weekend requirement with holiday work as scheduled. No call or standby requirement for travelers historically. Cancellation policy allows 3 shifts per 13-week contract. Charting via EPIC. Two-shift orientation with an RN during your first week.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications
• PALS or ENPC (interchangeable)
• NIHSS (may be obtained within 30 days of start)
• NRP desired but may be obtained within 30 days of start
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Smaller hospital experience preferred
• BSN not required

Scrub color has no specific requirement; solid colors and prints are acceptable.
