Emergency Room RN Job in Penn Yan, NY

Finger Lakes Health Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan, NY is seeking a registered nurse for the Emergency Room. This is a full-time position with flexible 12-hour shifts rotating between days and nights.

Position Details

• Shift: 3x12 flex schedule (7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Day, night, weekend, and holiday rotation required
• Duration: 186 days
• Start Date: September 8, 2026
• Weekly Pay: $2,419.56

Qualifications Required

• Current New York State RN licensure
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience
• One year of acute hospital experience as a registered professional nurse
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
• Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only)
• NIHSS certification

Your Role

You will conduct triage assessments to identify urgent and emergent care priorities for patients of all age groups. You will perform primary and secondary assessments using direct observation, patient and family interviews, and EMS reports. Your responsibilities include delivering high-quality, compassionate care using invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, and therapeutic interventions appropriate for both life-threatening and routine emergency situations.

You will assess the physiological, psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs of patients and their families. Collaborate with team members to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures, treatments, and post-emergency care. Maintain patient communication boards and provide frequent updates throughout the ED visit. Document and report any suspected domestic violence or abuse across all age groups.
