Job Details:

• No call responsibilities
• Every other weekend schedule
• Work assignments paired with step down and/or floor assignments
• Responsible for approximately 8 ventilated patients in unit on average
• Floor assignments consist of 3-4 floors
• Average 2-3 intrahospital transports (CT, MRI, specials) per shift
• Required certifications: RRT, BLS, ACLS
• Maintain professional image and exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers
• Perform direct patient care and provision of respiratory care procedures in all areas within facility
• Perform hyperbaric medicine procedures for those specially trained
• Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response alerts in timely manner
• Exercise sound clinical judgment and assessment skills for appropriate patient care
• Document and maintain records, charts and reports in timely manner
• Participate in respiratory care educational activities and departmental meetings
• Special trained staff perform pulmonary functions, methacholine challenges, hyperbaric medicine, NICU care, PICU care and asthma education
• Equipment used includes Servo i vent, V60 BiPAP, and iStat for ABG analysis
