Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM start times, three shifts per week
• Self-scheduling with first schedule to fill in gaps, blocks considered to meet unit needs
• Every other to every third weekend required
• Occasional holiday requirement
• On-call requirement of 2 shifts per contract
• Float to ER to task rarely, primarily stationed on the unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 without CNA or 1:3 with CNA on a 13-bed Medical Surgical unit
• Common diagnoses include post orthopedic surgeries, pneumonia, COPD, CHF, general surgical procedures, A-fib RVR, and MI/rule out chest pain
• Required to titrate drips including insulin, Cardizem, and Heparin
• Must be able to read at least basic telemetry; telemetry box and virtual monitor tech available on unit
• Respiratory equipment includes nasal cannula, high flow oxygen, CPAP, and BiPAP
• Charge nurse serves as house-wide resource and supervisor covering Med Surg and L&D
• CNA support available for vital signs, ADLs, foley removal, and sterile procedure setup
• Charting system: EPIC
• Any color professional scrubs required
• 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS
