OR Nurse Job in Bethel, AK

You will provide comprehensive nursing care in the Operating Room at Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation. Your role spans the full perioperative continuum—pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases—caring for patients from birth through elderly populations.

Core Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through the complete nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Direct and coordinate nursing care based on established practice standards
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure quality, cost-effective, and efficient patient care
• Apply age-specific considerations and cultural competence in all patient interactions
• Serve as a resource person when situations require specialized OR knowledge
• Supervise administrative assistants, schedulers, and CSR technicians in collaboration with the Charge Nurse
• Operate and maintain medical equipment including cardiac monitors and autoclave systems

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of OR experience
• Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Active Alaska RN license in good standing
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work flexible schedules and take independent actions within prescribed limits
• Knowledge of AORN standards

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS certification
• National Certification in Surgery/PACU

Assignment Details

This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning May 5, 2026. You will work a rotating shift schedule at an established healthcare facility serving rural Alaska. Weekly compensation is $2,628.
