PCU Registered Nurse Job in Augusta, GA

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a 112-day travel assignment beginning September 14, 2026, working three 12-hour night shifts per week at $1,903 weekly.

Role Overview

You will provide care to adolescent and geriatric patients on a Neuro/Stroke PCU floor. The unit consists of 36 beds with an average daily census of 30. Patient assignments follow a 1:4 patient-to-nurse ratio, and you will manage patients with respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Titrate cardiac drips with continuous telemetry monitoring
• Manage BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway support
• Administer blood products and manage heparin protocols
• Perform cardiac and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Care for central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines, and chest tubes
• Provide pre- and post-neurosurgery care and traumatic brain injury management
• Manage feeding tubes, tracheostomies, and insulin drip titration
• Perform phlebotomy and IV insertion
• Float within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Coordinate with rapid response and code teams

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Epic charting experience preferred

Unit Details

The unit uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems. Scrub color is navy blue. Every other weekend is required unless specified otherwise. No block scheduling or on-call requirements apply. Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract, finalized at submission. Spring Break (April 4–12) is a blackout period. Holiday work expectations apply based on assignment overlap with major holidays.
