PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• 4 x 10-hour day shifts with start times between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM
• No weekend shifts required
• Float required to other CPMC campuses as needed based on census
• Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 32-room unit with a daily census of 40-50 patients
• Provide individualized nursing care using the nursing process for geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and infant patients from admission through discharge
• Apply knowledge of peri-anesthesia standards of care, airway management, nursing assessment parameters, and pharmacology
• Manage medications including doses, purpose, interactions, side effects, and reactions
• Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience required, preferably in a high acuity care hospital
• ICU experience required
• Cath Lab experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Travel experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Proficiency in a wide range of skills including airway assessment, arterial line management, blood product administration, cardiac arrest/CPR, care of ventilated patients, dysrhythmia recognition and management, IV vasopressors, malignant hyperthermia protocol, pain assessment and management, and more
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS
• Valid California RN licensure required
• 24 orientation hours included
• Interdisciplinary support available including interpretation services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
