PACU Registered Nurse Job in San Francisco, CA

Join Sutter Health CPMC Van Ness Campus as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will provide specialized nursing care to patients in the immediate post-operative period, applying peri-anesthesia standards of care and advanced clinical skills in a 32-room unit with daily census of 40–50 patients.

Position Details

• Schedule: 4 × 10-hour day shifts with start times between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM
• No weekend shifts required
• Patient ratio: 2:1 across all shifts
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: August 24, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,476

Your Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized nursing care using the nursing process for geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and infant patients
• Manage Phase I PACU care, airway management, and nursing assessment parameters
• Administer and manage medications, including doses, purpose, interactions, side effects, and reactions
• Perform procedures including arterial line management, chest tube management, conscious sedation, and IV vasopressor administration
• Utilize the Epic charting system
• Float to other CPMC campuses as needed based on census

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience, preferably in a high-acuity care hospital
• ICU experience required
• Valid California RN licensure
• Current ACLS, BLS (AHA), and PALS certifications
• Travel experience required
• Extensive cardiac and cath lab experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
