Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• 3rd shift position working 3x12-hour shifts
• Implement professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person within a caring environment focused on healing and wellness
• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice
• Consider patient culture, age, and developmental level when designing care actions and interventions
• Identify patient risk factors and presenting complaints
• Collect objective and subjective data and obtain patient health information from family or others as necessary
• Develop problem lists and prioritize patient needs based on input from the inter-professional team
• Determine desired outcomes in coordination with patient and family in accordance with medical plan of care
• Fully implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice
• Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
• Conduct and document ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies using the nursing process
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in the performance of patient care activities
• Monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care provided by other team members
• Identify and address educational needs of patients related to prioritized problems
• Facilitate patient discharge process by executing discharge orders in a timely manner and coordinating with Case Management
• Provide input into patient/nurse assignments considering available staffing, unit activity, and patient acuity
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, patient falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and documentation auditing
• Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions
• Use a holistic perspective regarding patient care and nursing excellence based on evidence-based practice and current research
