Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Position is for Med Surg only on a 32-bed Surgical Unit
• Schedule options of 36 or 48 hours per week available
• On-call responsibilities required
• Surgical experience required
• Experience caring for patients after vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery required
• Common diagnoses on the unit include ARDS, esophagectomies, Whipples, and sepsis
• RN patient ratios are 4:1 on days and 5:1 on nights
• LNA ratios to patients are 1:7-11 (unit shares with PCU)
• Floating to other units may be expected
• Required experience and skills include:
  - Chest tubes
  - Tubes and drains for post-surgical patients
  - Drips including Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone
  - Trachs and laryngectomies
  - Telemetry
  - Complex wound care
  - Central line care, maintenance, and blood draws
