Med Surg RN Job in Portsmouth, NH

Portsmouth Regional Hospital NH is seeking a Med Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment beginning November 9, 2026. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) at $2,077 weekly.

Role Overview

As a Med Surg RN, you will provide direct patient care on a medical-surgical unit with a standard patient ratio of 1:6, occasionally 1:7 during surge periods. You will float to the same level of care as needed and utilize the Meditech Expanse system for documentation and telemetry monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform wound care, drain management (chest tubes, Jackson Pratt), and foley insertion
• Conduct central line dressing changes and telemetry monitoring
• Perform continuous bladder irrigation and EKGs as needed
• Implement bedside shift report and hourly safety rounding
• Build personal connections with patients and support unit experience requirements
• Collaborate with unit secretaries (day shift) and LNAs (both shifts)

Schedule & Staffing

Every other weekend is required with rotating holidays. Self-scheduling is available with leadership reserving rights to balance the unit schedule.

Requirements

• Active RN license at time of submission
• BLS and IV certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting

Work Environment

Wear scrubs in any color. You will have access to unit secretaries on day shift and LNAs supporting both day and night shifts to maximize your time at the bedside.
