OR RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

Saint Louis Childrens Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room on a 91-day travel assignment starting September 8, 2026. This is a day-shift position offering $2,413.67 weekly pay.

Schedule & Expectations

• 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
• No weekends required; on-call commitment of 1 weekend every 6 weeks and 4–6 weekdays every 6 weeks
• 1:1 patient ratio
• May float to pediatric medical-surgical units and ICU as RN Assist

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications
• Epic charting system experience
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Local candidates within 75-mile radius not accepted

Clinical Details

Surgical specialties include Neuro, Ortho, Plastics, Eyes, GU/GI, ENT, General, GYN, Spine, and Dental. Cardiac, vascular, and thoracic cases are not assigned to travel nurses. General, GU, ENT, and Plastics call team participation is required. You will work with neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatric patients across all age groups.

Core Skills

• Scrub and circulate in general and pediatric OR settings
• Administration of blood and blood products
• Electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources
• Specimen handling and labeling
• Infection control and Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures
• Pediatric CVOR and Pediatric General OR experience

Scrub color is flexible—any color or facility-branded T-shirts and jackets are acceptable. The in-house surgical team operates 24/7, ensuring full clinical support during your assignment.
