Operating Room RN Job in Kansas City, MO

BJC West – Saint Lukes North Hospital's Barry Road Campus is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. You'll provide surgical nursing care across multiple specialties, working in a 1:1 patient ratio environment with a daily census of 20 patients.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3x12 day shifts
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: November 16, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,286
• 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week period (Friday, Saturday, Sunday combination)
• On-call: one weekend every six weeks and one night per week
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks with cancelled shifts matching regular shift length

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of OR experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Active Missouri and Kansas license or compact license at time of submission
• Required certifications: ABLS, BLS
• Preferred certifications: CNOR, PALS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting system experience required
• Home address at least 75 miles from facility

Clinical Scope

You'll work with procedures across gynecology, plastics, orthopedic, general surgery, urology, robotics (Da Vinci Xi), ENT, bariatrics, pediatric cases, trauma, and podiatry. Required skills include blood product administration, cardiac monitoring, conscious sedation monitoring, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling, peripheral IV placement, universal protocol compliance, urinary catheterization, wound management, and emergency response including malignant hyperthermia protocols.
