CVOR Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) program. This is a 9-week contract position with 40 guaranteed hours per week.

Schedule and Logistics

• Monday through Friday day shifts, 8 hours per shift
• Weekend shifts as needed with every-other holiday rotation
• On-call requirements: 1 week day call, 1 week day backup call, 2–3 weekend calls, and 1 holiday call
• 30-minute response time required when on call; vehicle required

Role Responsibilities

• Provide CVOR circulating duties across 4–5 operating rooms daily from a 21-OR facility
• Assist anesthesia providers with intubations, fiber optic scopes, and sterile central line techniques
• Support placement of arterial lines, central lines, lumbar drains, and Swan Ganz catheters
• Start IVs, draw labs, set up medication pumps, and operate Belmont, Cell Saver, and Level I equipment
• Assist with heart surgeries, traumas, elective procedures, and general surgeries with focus on cardiothoracic cases

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of OR experience with anesthesia experience
• Prior travel healthcare experience required
• Associate degree or certificate in nursing
• WI RN license or compact RN license
• Current AHA or ARC BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency with Cell Saver and Belmont equipment
• Epic charting system proficiency
• Conscious sedation experience is a plus
