CVOR Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Cardiovascular Operating Room. This 13-week contract offers 40 guaranteed hours per week on a Monday through Friday day shift schedule with every 3rd–4th weekend and holiday rotation required.

Compensation and Schedule

• Weekly pay: $3,391
• 5x8 day shifts
• On-call requirements: 1 night per week, 1 weekend per month, 1 backup per week, with occasional additional call as needed
• 30-minute response time required when on call
• Personal vehicle required due to on-call response expectations

Role Overview

You will work across 21 operating rooms with 4–5 rooms assigned per day, providing circulating support in cardiovascular and general surgery cases. Your responsibilities include assisting with intubations, fiber optic scopes, sterile technique with central lines, arterial line placement, Swan Ganz catheters, IV starts, lab draws, medication pump setup, and operation of Belmont and Cell Saver equipment. You will assist the anesthesiologist across heart surgeries, traumas, elective cases, and general surgery.

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of OR experience with anesthesia background
• Prior travel healthcare experience
• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Wisconsin RN License or compact RN license
• AHA or ARC BLS, ACLS certification
• Proficiency with Epic, Cell Saver, and Belmont systems
• Strong CVOR circulating experience and critical thinking skills
• Experience assisting anesthesia in diverse OR cases
• Conscious sedation experience is a plus

You must be flexible, resilient, and manage change effectively. Strong knowledge of OR operations and willingness to complete downtime tasks are essential. A 2-week orientation with additional anesthesia skills training will be provided. Scrub colors are provided.
