Physical Therapist Job in Austin, TX

Heart Hospital of Austin is seeking a Physical Therapist for a 13-week contract assignment. You will work day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekend coverage every 3 to 4 weekends. There are no on-call requirements.

In this role, you will provide physical therapy services in an acute care setting, including the ICU and CCU. You may be the only PT on weekends, so strong clinical judgment and independence are essential. Your typical patient population will include those recovering from open heart procedures, TAVR, and LVAD implants. Wound care experience is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient-centered physical therapy in acute care environments
• Manage time and attendance independently
• Communicate and coordinate throughout the day with the healthcare team
• Demonstrate respectful, friendly, and caring interactions with patients and staff
• Maintain strong attention to safety protocols

Requirements:

• Current PT license
• Acute care experience required, including ICU/CCU experience
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR system
• Ability to work independently and manage clinical decisions
• Professional demeanor with focus on safety and communication
