Opportunity:

RN - Tele Float Pool

Job Details:

• Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Float pool role covering Zone 4, which includes facilities within a 60-mile radius of Garden City, KS
• Float facilities include Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital (Ulysses, KS), St. Catherine - Dodge City (Dodge City, KS), and St. Catherine - Garden City (Garden City, KS)
• Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance and may follow a single facility assignment for the week or a Just-In-Time (JIT) format where facility is assigned 1-2 hours before shift start
• May be asked to float into any acuity level including ICU (low acuity holds within skillset), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
• Float units include General MS-Tele and various specialties including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology post-surgical, General Surgery, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, and General Medicine
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 based on acuity
• Required to titrate Heparin drips
• Nurse aides available on unit
• RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP present on unit
• 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Rare call or standby requirement for low census situations
• Charting system: EPIC
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of MS-Tele experience in the last 3 years
• Prior neuro experience preferred
• Alaris and EPIC experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
• Traveler must be flexible and available to help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
• Traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that allows feasibility of floating throughout the full 60-mile zone
