Opportunity:

RN - Tele Float Pool

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Float position covering Zone 4 facilities within a 60-mile radius of Garden City, KS including Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital (Ulysses), St. Catherine-Dodge City, and St. Catherine-Garden City
• Travelers are expected to float throughout the full 60-mile zone regardless of where housing is obtained
• Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance and may follow a single facility assignment for the week or a Just-In-Time (JIT) format where facility is assigned 1-2 hours before shift start
• 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Rare on-call or standby requirement for low census situations
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
• Float pool covers multiple units including General MS-Tele, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
• May be asked to float into other acuity levels including ICU (low acuity holds within skillset), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 based on acuity
• Common patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology post-surgical, General Surgery, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, and General Medicine
• Required to titrate Heparin drips
• RT equipment experience including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP required
• Must have 2 years of MS-Tele experience within the last 3 years
• Prior neuro experience preferred
• Alaris and EPIC experience preferred
• Charting system: EPIC
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Valid Kansas nursing license required
