Telemetry RN Job in Lufkin, TX

You will work as a Registered Nurse on the Telemetry unit at CHI St Lukes Health-Memorial Lufkin, a rural hospital in East Texas. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting October 26, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday shifts required
• 36 hours per week guaranteed; no call or standby requirement
• Weekly pay: $1,969.92

Unit Details

• 25-bed Telemetry unit with 5–6 patients per RN
• Patient Care Technicians present at 12:1 ratio
• Charge Nurse, House Supervisors, and Nurse Educators available on unit
• Telemonitor techs monitor patients; you must read strips independently
• Common diagnoses: CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, CKD, and med/surg tele patients
• You will titrate Heparin drips only
• You must be comfortable with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen patients
• You may float to all med/surg units and possibly to PCU for tele holds prior to transfer

Orientation and Systems

• Two shadow/orientation shifts in Kurth Tower (all med/surg tele)
• Charting system: Paragon, transitioning to EPIC on October 30, 2026
• Scrub color: Navy blue

Requirements

• 18 or more months of recent Med/Tele experience required
• Rural hospital experience preferred
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications required

Block scheduling cannot be accommodated; unit manager manages the schedule.
