Telemetry RN Job in Lufkin, TX

CHI St Lukes Health-Memorial Lufkin is seeking a Registered Nurse for Telemetry. This is a 91-day travel position starting November 2, 2026.

Position Details:

• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 3 days per week with every other weekend required
• 36 hours per week guaranteed (36/48 hours bi-weekly structure)
• Weekly pay: $1,973

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Care for patients with CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, CKD, and general medical/surgical telemetry conditions
• Monitor patients with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Perform heparin drip titration
• Read telemetry strips and monitor cardiac rhythms
• Patient ratios of 5–6:1 on a 25-bed unit
• Float to all med/surg units and possibly PCU for telemetry holds prior to transfer

Requirements:

• Minimum 18+ months recent Med/Tele experience
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS certification required
• Ability to read telemetry strips
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Willingness to work in a rural hospital environment
• Rural hospital experience preferred

Unit Environment:

• Patient-care technicians (PCTs) available at 12:1 ratio
• Charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators available for support
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Holiday shifts required

System & Logistics:

• Charting system is Paragon, transitioning to EPIC on October 30, 2026
• Orientation includes 2 shadow/orientation shifts
• Scheduling managed by unit manager; block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Navy blue scrubs required
