Occupational Therapist Job in Devils Lake, ND

Altru Hospital – Devils Lake is seeking an Occupational Therapist for outreach therapy services. This is a full-time position offering 40 guaranteed hours per week on a day shift schedule, 5 days per week for 8 hours per day. The assignment runs for 92 weeks, with a start date of April 20, 2026.

About the Role

You will evaluate and treat patients in compliance with licensure standards, selecting and performing evaluation and treatment methods based on patient age, diagnosis, symptoms, and physician orders. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to contribute to patient goal development and care planning, and provide patient and family education on treatment procedures, assistive devices, and home programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate treatment schedules with other disciplines using appropriate scheduling procedures
• Monitor program effectiveness and outcomes, initiating new programs as needed
• Perform pain assessments and take appropriate action per standard operating procedures
• Document all required patient information including precautions, orders, and initial plan of care
• Participate in interdisciplinary team development of discharge plans
• Identify significant changes in patient condition and take appropriate actions
• Provide clinical supervision to OTA in a collaborative manner following state licensure standards

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with both inpatient and/or outpatient settings
• North Dakota Occupational Therapist license
• OTR/L (NBCOT) certification
• Current driver's license with acceptable driving record
• BLS (AHA) certification
• All certifications must be maintained prior to start date
