Job Details:

• 14-week contract assignment
• OT license required with experience in hand therapy
• Several years of hand therapy experience required
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred but not required
• Must be well versed in custom hand splints
• Travel experience required
• Evaluate and treat patients in compliance with licensure standards
• Work with an interdisciplinary team to contribute to patient goal development, care planning, and identifying barriers to discharge
• Select and perform evaluation and treatment methods based on patient age, diagnosis, symptoms, and physician orders
• Provide patient-centered care and educate patients and families on treatment procedures, assistive devices, and home programs
• Coordinate treatment schedules with other disciplines using appropriate scheduling procedures
• Monitor program effectiveness and outcomes, initiating and developing new programs as needed
• Perform pain assessments and take appropriate action according to standard operating procedures
• Obtain and document all required patient information including precautions, orders, and initial plan of care
• Participate with interdisciplinary team in development and documentation of discharge plans
• Identify significant changes in patient condition and take appropriate action
• Provide clinical supervision to OTAs in a collaborative manner following state licensure and care delivery standards
• Required certifications: Occupational Therapist licensure through the North Dakota State Board of Occupational Therapy, OTR/L through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT), and Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
