MRI Technologist Job in Chapel Hill, NC

Join the University of North Carolina Health Care System as an MRI Technologist on an 89-day travel assignment. You will perform diagnostic imaging procedures using MRI equipment, working a 5x8 night schedule with shifts Thursday and Friday 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, earning $2,556 weekly.

Your responsibilities include:

• Verify patient identification, obtain patient history, and ensure patient safety protocols are followed at all times
• Document pregnancy status on patients of childbearing age and review patient charts for clinical correlation
• Operate MRI scanners and perform automatic injections of MRI contrast media
• Establish intravenous lines and administer IV contrast following safe and proper injection procedures, including verification of appropriate lab values before injection
• Administer oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to established protocols
• Interpret MRI protocols and select appropriate scanning parameters based on cross-sectional human anatomy knowledge
• Maintain proficiency with disc drives, gateways, PACS, and laser printers
• Transmit images to QC, EMR, EPIC, and PACS systems and verify image segmentation at the QC station
• Complete, modify, or cancel orders in a timely manner with accurate charge and demographic information
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment and produce quality diagnostic images
• Precept new employees and students as assigned
